How to Treat Your Staff Like an All-Star Team

All-stars live a charmed life! Think of the respect and perks provided to all-star athletes or celebrities. And these are people that most of our society has never even met! Your employees are a group of people you spend nearly every day with—probably more time than you spend with your own family. Instead of simply names on the payroll, why not treat your staff just as you would your family or friends—providing true all-star treatment? It can only benefit your company.   • Host company outings. Holiday parties, sporting events, happy hours, work dinners or other outings encourage team building and respect among coworkers. Plus, getting to know each other outside of work can help build team synergy inside of work. Also, it’s a healthy to set the precedent that a good life is equal parts hard work and relaxation.
  • Offer flexible scheduling. Help employees work around all the responsibilities they have outside of the office; this can improve their productivity inside the office. As long as your staff is getting their work done on time, it may not matter when during the day that work gets done.
  • Provide avenues for healthy living. When employees feel good, it shows! Can your company offer healthier food options in the cafeteria, access to natural light, walking breaks, an on-site workout facility, etc? Perks like these can work wonders for employees’ attitudes and output.
