. Surf’s up!—well, almost. You’d be surprised how 80 tons of sand can get you in a beachy kind of mood. That’s what happens during the Decatur Beach Party (formerly Summer in the City) on June 21. You can dip your toes in the sand (it’s been transported in) while you enjoy pop-up performances, live music, a food court and food trucks, a selection of beer and wine, face painting, souvenirs and much more!

If music is what you crave, Atlanta does not disappoint. You can check out a wide variety of free and ticketed music events to satisfy many musical genres. All month long you can choose from the following: An Evening Under the Stars Blues Festival (June 15), Balsam Range bluegrass, concerts in Alpharetta Park (June through September), concerts in Sandy Springs (June through September), the Latin Music of Club Bableu (June 14), the Birthday Bash ATL hip-hop show (June 15), and Jazz Matters (June 21), and Concerts in the Botanical Garden (June through August) among many other events.

If you like to kick back and watch your favorite flicks under the stars, you have plenty of options this June in Atlanta. You can check out free movies in Mableton (June 6 – 27), Atlantic Station (June 12 – July 24) and various parks (June through September).

You can enjoy delicious food and a cocktail or two when you take part in a variety of festivals and events during the month of June, and all summer long.
